Procedure Description:
The volume and size of the breast is reduced. At the same time the shape is improved and made more cone shaped. The nipple and the areola are also raised to the most cosmetic location.
What To Expect:
With Reduction Mammoplasty, breast size is reduced along with a relocation of the nipple and areola. Most patients are physically more comfortable following the procedure. They report less back and shoulder pain, easier physical activity, and better fitting of clothes.
Preprocedure:
During your pre-operative consultation in our office, Dr. Harvey will take your medical history, perform an examination, take clinical photographs, and recommend and explain options that are appropriate for you. Patient Coordinators, Patricia Gottschalk and Mamie Lee, will discuss financial information and assist in scheduling your procedure.
Postprocedure:
Back to work: 2 to 3 weeks. Strenuous activity: 1 month. Fading of scars: several months to a year or more.
